The Team
Kim is a Director and Writer. She studied 'Film and Television Production' at the University of Hertfordshire before going on to do an MA in 'Text and Performance' at RADA and Birkbeck. Kim also took the 'Advanced Playwriting' course at Theatre 503 under Dawn King, and masterclasses in directing at RADA with Katie Mitchell. Kim has worked extensively in the industry for over twelve years. She founded Mimic Theatre Company, Youth Theatre and Stage School in 2018. Writer/Director credits include: 30 Minutes (Theatre N16 and Intermission), Growing Pains (RADA and Hope Theatre). Writing credits include: Bana and Mary (Original Impact), Egg-Shaped Prick (Chewin the Fat Magazine). Directing credits include: My Recollection (Intermission), The Rattlesnake's Kiss (Sense of Place), Bag Lady (Actor Awareness Festival). As Assistant Director: Gertrude the Cry (Theatre N16), Blackhander (Theatre N16), Twelfth Night (UK Tour). Kim has also worked for companies such as Theatre Tours International and Full House.
Abbie is a graduate of Dance and Performance at Buckinghamshire New University where she specialised in Jazz. She performed in countless shows locally throughout her childhood and has danced since the age of three. Abbie has many ISTD certificates in modern, tap and ballet and she also taught locally at the Niki and Barbara Dance Academy, Shooting Stars Academy and Expressions, where she directed two award-winning productions: Annie and Camp Rock. She also founded an award winning Musical Theatre Society at University. In 2019, Abbie began teaching Dance and Musical Theatre at Mimic Stage School. In 2023 Abbie became the Stage School's Vice Principal, as well as continuing to teach Dance, Drama & Musical Theatre.
George is an Actor, Producer and Theatre Maker. She studied Drama at Exeter University, before going on to train with the National Youth Theatre and the Actor's Class. George has performed the lead in various shows with Shattered Windscreen Theatre Company at the Minack Theatre including The Wicked Lady and The 39 Steps. She's also performed with Original Impact, The Hunter Theatre Company, the Cockpit Theatre and starred in a production of The Frontier Trilogy, which she also produced under her own theatre company, Sense of Place. George is also a professional voiceover actor and has been involved in an internet-based comedy series with Crucible Films.
Dean Tanner - Technical Director
Dean is a TV Producer. He graduated from The University of the Lincoln in 2012 with a degree in Film and Media and has since worked in television for the past nine years, as an Assistant Producer and Producer. Credits include: Accused: Guilty or Innocent? (BBC), Emergency (Channel 4), GPs Behind Closed Doors (Channel 5), Breaking the Taboo (Sundog Pictures), 24 Hours in A&E (Channel 4), 24 Hours in Police Custody (Channel 4) and Tyger Takes On (BBC 3). Dean has assisted in youth productions both with Splitz School of Dance and Drama and the Barn Theatre. Dean is also the Photographer and Technical Director of Mimic Stage School. His various roles with Mimic include ASM, sound and photographer on shows including: Fame Jr, Dreams of Anne Frank, Scheherazade, The Boy Preference & Six, and The Jungle Book.
Billy - Mimic Dog
Billy has been involved in the company since its creation in early 2018. Billy has assisted in the distribution of marketing and appeared at the various events Mimic has attended. He can generally be seen pottering around the Mimic office dropping food pellets over the floor for the directors to tidy when they have nothing else to do.
