Our Team

Our youth theatre tutors are hand picked for their industry knowledge, experience and performance background. But they are also chosen because they are excellent teachers, all bringing their own styles and energy to each group.

Kim Southey

Youth Theatre Company Director & Tutor

Training: RADA & Birkbeck

CEO & Founder of Mimic Theatre Company and Mimic Stage School, Kim is also a Director and Writer. She completed her MA in Text and Performance at RADA & Birkbeck before a Graduate course in Directing with Katie Mitchell and the Advanced Playwriting Programmer with Theatre 503. Kim's work has received four and five star reviews as well as publication in Chewin the Fat magazine. Writer/Director credits include: 30 Minutes (Intermission/N16), Growing Pains (RADA/Hope). Director credits include: The Frontier Trilogy (Sense of Place), Bag Lady (Actor Awareness). Assistant Director credits include: Gertrude the Cry (N16), Twelfth Night (UK Tour).

Georgina Bennett

Hertford COPs Youth Theatre Tutor

Training: National Youth Theatre, Actor’s Class

Georgina studied Drama at The University of Exeter before going on to train with The National Youth Theatre and The Actors Class, and has over ten years experience in the industry. Since establishing her own production company Sense of Place in 2018, Georgina has produced 3 sell out shows and is currently working toward a fourth production. Recent theatre credits include Good Grief by Matt Addie, The Wasp by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, and The 39 Steps which played to sell out audiences at The Minack Theatre. Recent screen credits include Welcome to Paradise (feature film) and Hang On (short film).

Olivia Evans

Beginner Youth Theatre Tutor

Training: NYT & East15

Olivia Frances Evans is an actor based in London and Hertfordshire. She trained at the National Youth Theatre and East 15 on the Cert He. During her training Olivia got to work with professional industry directors and actors and she has been working in the industry for 3 years and is continuing to audition, take part in workshops and classes and create content. She has recently come back from training in Clown at École Phillippe Gaulier, Étampes, France. Over the past year Olivia has been volunteering in youth theatre group workshops and working as a teaching assistant for Mimic Stage school. She is looking forward to teaching her first group of students at Mimic Theatre Company!

Kate Humbles

Junior Youth Theatre Tutor

Training: Rose Bruford, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire 

Whilst training at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Kate starred as leading roles in productions such as Roots by Arnold Wesker and Urinetown the Musical. Kate is now signed with London agent Hatch Talent and is currently filming multiple TV jobs. As well as being a working actor, Kate also teaches Early Stages for the Barn Theatre and Stagecoach. Kate is so excited to teach at Mimic where she can help nurture and build the knowledge of young performers.

Hannah Underwood

Beginner Youth Theatre Assistant

Training: Mimic Youth Theatre Company

Hannah has been at Mimic since 2021 and been assisting Lite School since 2023.

Hannah has been a part of many Mimic productions, including Oliver!, Caitlyn in Camp Rock and Gingy in Shrek. She enjoys the Mimic community and working with the younger children as well as the team.​
