Our youth theatre team have extensive industry knowledge, experience and performance background, as well as a passion for theatre for young people.
Kim Southey
Managing Director
Training: RADA & Birkbeck
CEO & Founder of Mimic Theatre Company and Mimic Stage School, Kim is also a Director and Writer. She completed her MA in Text and Performance at RADA & Birkbeck before a Graduate course in Directing with Katie Mitchell and the Advanced Playwriting Programmer with Theatre 503. Kim's work has received four and five star reviews as well as publication in Chewin the Fat magazine. Writer/Director credits include: 30 Minutes (Intermission/N16), Growing Pains (RADA/Hope). Director credits include: The Frontier Trilogy (Sense of Place), Bag Lady (Actor Awareness). Assistant Director credits include: Gertrude the Cry (N16), Twelfth Night (UK Tour).

Shaun Nolan
Membership Administrator
The Arts have always been the foundation of Shaun's life and now, he loves working with people who have that similar kind of passion. What Shaun believes is so wonderful about working with educators in the Arts is getting to see people inspire others with their passions and open minds to something new. As well as working with a number of theatre schools and production companies to help bring this work to life, he is also starting on a career in writing, acting, directing and producing work of his own, His stage work includes "Paper Dolls" (Edinburgh Festival Fringe, 2018), "Paper Dolls & Other Shorts" (Aylesbury Waterside Theatre, 2019), "A Place Set Aside for Sleeping" (The Limelight Theatre, 2022), and "Party Baggage" (The Drayton Arms Theatre, 2024), as well as countless other audio and film projects.

Abbie Reck
Assistant Show Producer
Training: Buckinghamshire New University
Abbie is a graduate of Dance and Performance where she specialised in Jazz. She performed in countless shows locally throughout her childhood and has danced since the age of three. Abbie has many ISTD certificates in modern, tap and ballet and she also taught locally at the Niki and Barbara Dance Academy, Shooting Stars Academy and Expressions, where she directed two award-winning productions: Annie and Camp Rock. She also founded an award winning Musical Theatre Society at University. Since 2019, Abbie has been teaching Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre at Mimic Stage School. In 2023 as well as continuing to teach and direct shows, Abbie became Mimic Stage School's Vice Principal.

Kate Humbles
Beginner Youth Theatre Tutor
Training: Rose Bruford, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire
Whilst training at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Kate starred as leading roles in productions such as Roots by Arnold Wesker and Urinetown the Musical. Kate is now signed with London agent Hatch Talent and is currently filming multiple TV jobs. As well as being a working actor, Kate also teaches Early Stages for the Barn Theatre and Stagecoach. Kate is so excited to teach at Mimic where she can help nurture and build the knowledge of young performers.

Grace Denison
Beginner Youth Theatre Assistant
Training: Mimic Youth Theatre Company
Grace joined Mimic in 2020 and has performed main roles in various shows with Mimic since, including the Lion in Oz, Catherine of Aragon/Katherine Howard in Six, Eunice in Our Day Out, Paulette in Legally Blonde, Kitty in Growing Pains, and Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd. As well as her acting at Mimic, Grace ran the dance club and assisted in running the Drama Club at Onslow St Audreys. She has also assisted in lighting roles for B360 Limited, on sets of TV Programmes for the BBC and ITV as well as some Mimic shows. Grace hopes to study Acting and Performance at Southampton Solent University after Camp America, and one day hopes to own her own stage school.
