Who Are We?

Mimic offers an environment for young people wishing to build on skills, confidence, enjoy acting with friends and gain more industry knowledge. We work hard to cater to the needs of the individuals within the group but also to work on the group's needs as a whole. We keep our class sizes to a maximum of 20 so that everyone receives more individual attention. At Mimic we like to learn by doing  which is why we put on regular productions, small and large scale so our members can improve their skills and experience, and build their confidence.

What We Offer

We understand that whilst some young people want to perform and pursue drama for fun, to meet people or build confidence, other young people wish to pursue it more seriously, whether their goal is to just perfect their skills or whether they're considering a career in the industry. To cater for everyone's needs, Mimic Youth Theatre offers a weekly junior class open to all young people of any standard and experience and a senior group for aspiring industry creatives.

Junior Youth Theatre

Our Junior Youth Theatre is open to young people aged 10-14 of any standard or experience - allowing those who want to give things a try for the first time to do so but also allowing more experienced members the opportunity to grow and perfect their skills. The Junior Youth Theatre produces regular small-scale performances for young people wishing to gain practical performance experience without pressure to dedicate their entire life to the arts. Classes include drama exercises and techniques, games and modules in improvisation, devising, group work, script work and team building.

Senior Youth Theatre

The Senior Youth Theatre for ages 15-21 year olds offers the opportunity to partake in larger-scale shows and caters for teens and young adults who want to explore acting techniques further, gain experience in audition preparation, confidence building, experimenting with different genres and developing their skills in voice, body, performance and knowledge in the industry as well as modules in improvisation, devising, group work, voice work, audition technique, script work and team building.

We work towards creating high quality theatre, aiming to give young people the chance to shape their skills for a future in the arts. We enable a safe space for young theatre makers to grow and experiment. During productions and festivals, youth members will be expected to work in a professionally led environment.
